Gareth the Horse has been found dead in his prison cell last night, after being convicted of 168 counts of Crimes against Humanity, 124 counts of murder, 4 counts of terrorism, 7 counts of War Crimes and 23 counts of having a good time (while committing the above offenses). His legal team, lead by Xavier the Horse, have called the trial a farce, and have appealed against the Hague's ruling.
Gareth was born in the Scottish Highlands in 1702, and was involved in both Jacobite risings. Escaping from the English, he travelled with Bonny Prince Charlie back to Skye and set up an anarchist group. The group lead multiple terrorist attacks, but the police could never pin anything on Gareth. As he turned older, disbanded the group and became a successful banker and soldier- achieving the rank of Brigadier General- serving in the Napoleonic Wars- with an extended service in Canada, 1812-1814. He also served in both WW1 and 2 and was a key operative in the Cold War British Spy Agency, joining the KGB after posing as his cousin, who died of a heart attack on a visit to Gareth, who was Lenin's own stead. It was during this period he is alleged to have committed the majority of his crimes. After the Marxists fall, Gareth has been laying it low and campaigning for Brexit while evading the authorities. He was arrested last summer on the 14th of July.
The coroner has ruled the death a suicide by hanging, a rope tied to Gareth's neck and the bed frame. At the time of death, both guards in front of Gareth's cell fell asleep for 15 minutes, alongside a power shortage to the CCTV at the same period. Both guards committed suicide by a double gunshot wound to the rear of the head before they could be interviewed. The initial autopsy found traces off fentanyl derivatives in their systems, however this was ruled to be unrelated by the Chief Coroner, Dr William Thorne.

However, many groups have claimed that Gareth's death wasn't as simple as the coroner says it is. Accusations of foul play have come from the British political establishment and public, Gareth being both a decorated war hero and a Brexit Icon, winning over the hearts of many people with his trademark line "Brexit means Brexit". They point to the convenient circumstances of his death, happening before Gareth could appeal his sentence- a process in which he threatened to reveal "the true culprits of the accused crimes". Gareth had also stated he wasn't suicidal and if he committed suicide, "it was an assassination".
Former British Prime Minister Theresa May came out to call Gareth's death a "tragedy on the largest scale".
Mark Monteith, a mathematics teacher at Sullivan Upper School called it an "event" in a deeply controversial tweet.
Comedian Jimmy Carr cancelled all live events for the next month in mourning of his "dear friend".
Gareth was embroiled in a vicious court case lasting over a year, largely relying on historical sources due to Gareth being prevented from aging after capturing and eating the King of the Jays in 1706. This event also granted Gareth the mental facilities on par with a humans. The case alleged that Gareth committed many atrocities during his lifetime. Xavier the Horse denied the courts ability to try Gareth due to the events alleged to occur before the courts creation. This was rejected by the court, and Gareth was convicted.
The British government has announced a rapid, large scale inquest into Gareth's death and trial costing £109 million, and a state funeral will be held on the 17th of September. The results of the inquiry aim to be published for the day after the funeral.
The story continues to develop.
